Conditions Of Hire & Refunds Policy

All equipment must be returned clean to avoid additional washing charges (inc Glasses, Pie Warmers & Spits)
Hire conditions should be read carefully before signing. Payment and/or signature for hire equipment indicates acceptance of our Hire Conditions.
Hire equipment is NOT insured – all damages and shortages will be charged to hirer, including water damage to equipment and boxes left outside or under sprinklers.  The Hirer will be charged for any damage arising from factors outside Juke n Jive’s control, such as weather, and hire charges will NOT be refunded if the Hirer for any reason does not use equipment.  Like all hire companies, Juke n Jive charges for time out, not time used.
A refundable bond (minimum $50) is payable by the Hirer on all equipment hired from Juke n Jive. The bond will be refunded in full when hire equipment is returned, less any breakages, shortages, damages, cleaning, delivery or late fees (+ GST) as per our Hire Conditions.   Hirers who elect to pay by credit card will not be charged a bond, however their credit card details will be retained until equipment is returned to Juke n Jive. The credit card will be debited if the Hirer does not pay damages, shortages, cleaning, late fees or any other charges when equipment is returned or picked up.  Please allow 24 hours after the return of equipment for bond refunds.
A deposit is payable to confirm your hire booking.  Deposits will be refunded if sufficient notice of cancellation is given to re-book equipment.
Juke n Jive Party Hire Cancellation Policy:
  • Cancellations 8 days or more prior to function – full refund of deposit/payment
  • Cancellations 7 days or less prior to function – refund only if equipment can be re-booked, otherwise deposit/payment is forfeited
  • Cancellation of hire equipment on hire date or delivery/collect date – all deposit/payment is forfeited.
  • Cancellation of any part of the booked hire equipment on the hire date or delivery/collect date – all booked item/s will be charged for whether Hirer elects to take them or not.
Please note that refunds will be made in the same manner as payment e.g. if the hire is paid by credit card, the refund will be to the same credit card.  Juke n Jive Party Hire reserve the right to refund large cash payments via cheque.
Equipment will be delivered to the first available point inside the hirer’s property e.g. carport. Delivery fees do not include set-up or erection of equipment, or carrying equipment more than 10 metres.
All equipment is carefully checked when packed/delivered. Shortages, damages or malfunctions must be reported prior to the hire date, as claims for refund/replacement will not be accepted after the hire date.  It is the Hirer’s responsibility to check and count the hire equipment prior to and at the completion of their function.
Prices do not include delivery fees or set-up charges.  From 1.7.2000 GST (10%) will be included on the Hire Contract & Tax Invoice. Prices are for one days’ hire only and are subject to change without notice.
All hire bookings are strictly COD – equipment will not be supplied without payment. Payment may be made by Cash, EFT, Bankcard, Visa, Mastercard or Cheque.  However, cheques must be received 10 days prior to the function date to allow clearance by our bank.  Cheques will NOT be accepted on delivery.  Any costs incurred by Juke n Jive in recovering monies or equipment will be paid for by the hirer. Equipment not returned within 3 days of the return due date will be deemed to be stolen and reported to police.
Equipment is to be used in the manner intended and not removed from the stated venue or outside the metro area. Juke n Jive takes no responsibility for any damage or injury caused by the use of its equipment once the Hirer has accepted it.
It is the Hirer’s responsibility to ensure he/she understands their obligations under the Hire Contract and complies with them.  Juke n Jive’s staff will inform customers of the main Hire Conditions at the time of booking, but final responsibility always rests with the Hirer.
